Tammy Ballinger Rokita

Tammy Ballinger Rokita has been a dancer for over 25 years, a dance educator for over 15 years, and a choreographer and dance coach for over 10 years. She grew up dancing locally and was a team member on a few different nationally award winning competition teams before graduating from high school. Also while growing up, Tammy had the opportunity to train locally and nationally from some of the dance industry’s biggest names such as Joe Tremaine, Ray Leaper, John Crutchman, Alan Sherfield, Michael Rooney, Dee Caspary, Jeanette Swider, Sally Whalen, Desiree Robbins, Tina D’Amato, Suzi Taylor. She received training at Tremaine Dance Center, Edge Performing Arts Center, Millennium Dance Complex, The Performing Arts Center, Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway, as well some area dance studios.

During high school Tammy was a member and co-captain of the state champion and nationally ranked Francis Howell Central Sensations Dance Team. Also, during high school she had the opportunity to play Clara in the Minnesota Ballet’s presentation of The Nutcracker. Immediately following high school Tammy became an instructor for the National Dance Alliance. This allowed her to travel throughout Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Texas teaching for NDA summer high school and college dance camps and adjudicating for high school dance team competitions and high school and college dance team try outs.

Tammy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Management from Oklahoma City University

Tammy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Management from Oklahoma City University training under internationally known instructors such as Jo Rowen, Robert Reed, and Patricia Oplotnik. During her time studying at OCU she performed and worked in many student run, student choreographed dance and musical theater shows and professional holiday orchestra performances while dancing for the American Spirit Dance Company. She also had the opportunity to work as an intern at the Annual Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina.

She has a passion for teaching and for working with the youth of the area.

After college Tammy worked and travelled nationally as an adjudicator for dance competitions. Tammy has since come back to Missouri to teach, choreograph, and coach. She has a passion for teaching and for working with the youth of the area. Tammy has trained and choreographed award winning dancers and routines.

She is currently the Head Coach of the state champion and nationally ranked Francis Howell North Knightline Dance Team. Tammy feels blessed for this opportunity to provide the best dance training possible along with a nurturing, positive, supportive environment and experience to the entire community and dance industry.
